Kanchi Vijaya: The Divine Horsemen
Description
At the heart of the composition, Lord Balabhadra rides a regal black steed while Lord Jagannath follows closely on a swift white horse. Resplendent in royal armor, high crowns, and carrying quivers and flowing standards, the divine brothers advance beneath a canopy of lush coconut palms. On the left stands the humble milkmaid, Manika Gaudani, balancing stacked earthen pots (kalasha) on her head and offering fresh buttermilk to the travelers—an endearing moment of sacred folklore deeply woven into Odishan tradition.
